This Privacy Policy describes how Setepenra, Inc. (“Setepenra,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our website at setepenra.com and our mobile application, Histou (collectively, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Account information. When you create a Histou account, we may collect an email address or the identifier associated with your sign-in method.
Conversation content. Histou lets you have voice and text conversations with AI recreations of historical figures. The content of these conversations may be processed to generate responses and improve the Services.
Communications. If you contact us (for example, at contact@setepenra.com), we receive the information you include in your message.

Information collected automatically

Usage and device data. We may collect app interactions, feature usage, device type, operating system version, and similar diagnostic information to operate and improve the Services.
Crash and performance data. We use diagnostic tools to detect and fix errors.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including generating AI conversation responses, biographies, quotations, and quizzes.
To manage subscriptions and process in-app purchases through the Apple App Store.
To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
To monitor performance, prevent abuse, and maintain the security of the Services.
To comply with our legal obligations.

3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA and UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR:

Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): to provide the Services you request and to manage your subscription.
Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): to secure, operate, and improve the Services and to prevent fraud and abuse, balanced against your rights.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): where we ask for it, for example for optional features; you may withdraw consent at any time.
Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): to comply with applicable law.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on trusted third-party providers to deliver the Services. These fall into the following categories: cloud infrastructure and hosting providers; third-party artificial-intelligence and machine-learning providers used to generate conversation, text, and audio content; analytics and crash-reporting tools (within the app); and Apple, for app distribution and payment processing. These providers process information only as needed to perform services on our behalf and are bound by contract to protect it. Purchases made through the App Store are governed by Apple’s own privacy practices.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. AI-Generated Content

Conversations, narrations, and other outputs in Histou are generated by artificial intelligence and may not reflect the actual views, statements, or historically accurate positions of the figures depicted. Content is provided for educational and entertainment purposes.

6. Cookies and Tracking on This Website

The setepenra.com website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not track or profile visitors. The website loads typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com); when your browser requests these files, your IP address is shared with Google solely to deliver the fonts. We use no other third-party scripts on the website. Data practices within the Histou app are described elsewhere in this policy.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

Account information: for as long as your account is active, and deleted within approximately 90 days of a verified deletion request, except where retention is required by law.
Conversation content: while your account is active; you may request deletion at any time.
Diagnostic, crash, and usage data: for a limited period (generally up to 24 months), after which it is deleted or aggregated.
Records we must keep by law (such as transaction records): for the period required by applicable law.

8. International Data Transfers

Setepenra is based in the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA or the UK to a country that has not received an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where applicable). You may request a copy of these safeguards by contacting us.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, or to request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at contact@setepenra.com. You can also manage or cancel subscriptions directly in your Apple App Store account settings. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

10. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you certain rights regarding your personal information. In the preceding 12 months we may have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as an email address); internet or other electronic network activity (such as app usage and diagnostic data); and audio or other content you provide through conversations. We use this information for the purposes described in “How We Use Your Information” above.

California residents have the right to know and access the personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction of that information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. 11. Children’s Privacy

Histou carries a 16+ age rating and is not directed to children. In the United States, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). In the European Union, the United Kingdom, and other regions, we do not knowingly process the personal data of users below the applicable age of digital consent, which is 16 in many countries and no younger than 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at contact@setepenra.com and we will delete it.

12. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
